Preset help needed. Thanks!

Hello all floofies. I'd like a bit of help regarding presets. You see I've noticed on some presets that people have made me are colored over once. They just color the whole photo once and be done. I think they used a new layer but I'm not sure. I'd like someone's helping showing me how to color it just once. I end up having to color it over and over. Screenies and step by step instructions would be appreciated. Thanks to whoever decides to help me. I use Gimp 2.8. If you make presets with gimp 2.8 please tell me how to color the pictures just once without having to do it over and over with the same color. Thanks! ^^ on and if someone could give me the code for glowing it'd be appreciated. Thanks again!

There are plenty of Members made tutorials that other people have made for you guys. Its located here below

But in order to color your preset I do recommend using a new layer before you actually cover your picture. That and bring in your texture layout and set the effect to Masking so you can see the fur texture. Here are some links that show you how to do that
