Weirdest Childhood Beliefs
« on: May 16, 2015, 05:35:13 pm »
I was inspired to do this after seeing funny beliefs from people's childhood. The rules are simple: someone explains their (or someone else's) childhood belief(s), and people can comment on it and even rate how funny it is and/or say if they believed that when they were young.

I'll start for yall:
When my friend's younger sister was asked what she wanted to be when she grew up, she thought that meant she could be anything or anyone. For example, when asked she would say "A vegetable!" or "A pony!" One day, my friend's sister was in some sort of Doctor Who phase that she picked up after watching it. So in first grade, her teacher asked her what she wanted to be when she grew up. She awnsered (in the way she said it) "Kwara Oddballs!" And the teacher was so confused. She believed she could be anything until she was about 10 or so.

7/10 XD

I used to think that if you didn't run out of the bathroom before the toilet finished flushing, a monster would come out and take you away and turn you into a monster.

[MAYBE OR MAYBE NOT THIS IS HAPPENING NOWADAYS...]
When I had to go to bed, I had to turn the lights off and run as fast as I could to my
bedroom so Springtrap wouldn't get me. O3O

8/10, haha. I always imagined there would be monsters and stuff lurking in the shadows to get me. I still hop on my bed faster than I have to nowadays... I'm not even scared of the dark, it's just habit now.

I used to believe the deep sea was essentially another world and fish were actually the souls of people who'd died. I refused to eat fish for the LONGEST time. I can blame my grandad for telling me this. Stupid superstitious sailor family messing with my naive little mind!

I believed that if I went high up enough on the swing, I'd fly into the trees.
I was eight, and had stubby legs.
