FeralHeart.exe Has Stopped Working
« on: March 12, 2014, 09:53:13 pm »
Ok, so, I've been on FeralHeart for roughly three years now, and I've been making maps for probably two. This time, I decided to make a map with Meshes in it. I have been working on the map and I put a portal in it so I can see what it looked like in game. Some of the meshes weren't there, so I thought, "Maybe you have to Export them in the object maker?" So I exported them, and closed FeralHeart to refresh it. When I went to open it back up, it gave me: "FeralHeart.exe has stopped working. Windows is looking for a solution to your problem." And, of course, it never found a problem. I have already checked my particles and I have nothing extra in there. I would re-download FeralHeart, but I have been working on this map for three days and I would hate to lose all the work.

For the meshes, just go into object maker and create a new group with your custom/downloaded meshes so you can see them in-game.

That picture is where you should be. :3

For the crashing...

This can be caused by many things:

- Go into C: >>> Feralheart >> media > particles and delete any ending in _0, _1, and so on.
- Change your rendering system by doing this:

Method number 1~

First, go into C: > Feralheart. If you look at the FH main folder, you will see a flie called:
'orge.cfg'
Click it, and open it with 'NOTEPAD'.

Look at the first two lines in the orge.cfg file. That is where you change your rendering system.

If you followed everything that was typed and the instructions in the pictures, you should have successfully switched your rendering system.

Method number 2~

Turn on FH!
On the main screen, you will see this:

Click options, and go to video. Click 'Rendering System.'

Then just simply switch your rendering system.

Note that sometimes method 2 doesn't always work- That's why I listed the orge.cfg file first. ^^

Good luck! Hope this helped those who don't know how to change their rendering system!~

You could also check for particles in folders like the my_objects folder. Sometimes they get in there. :3
Just type in 'particle' on your PC and look for any ending in _0, _1, and so on.

If that doesn't help, save any presets, screenshots, maps, etc to your desktop or something similar and reinstall the setup from this site.
Good luck!

No problem! I don't think many people look for particles in other folders than the particle one. x3 Good luck with your map!
