Mmm, lions...
« on: February 13, 2015, 04:07:16 pm »
Salut!
Well, I am experimenting with new things to draw.
I'd really love to draw felines, cats and lions.
Though, I need advice for drawing the head, face, paws, and body - they never turn out right.
[I draw dogs too much]
But, yes, if could give me advice to draw felines - I'll draw you something(don't know how soon it will get to you, but I'll try my best.) ...You don't have to be the first one - err'ybody gets'a drawing! yes. Just give me some advice, my lions look like mutant dog -pigs.
stinky dog coming through, don't mind me!

Ooh, felines.
They are tricky, yes. Especially if ye've grown accustomed to drawing mainly canines.
I don't have any advice on such, unfortunately. Instead, I want to share with you a few tutorials I found helpful when drawing felines:

Daesiy's Canine v Feline Anatomy Tutorial

There are several other parts, all of which can be found in her description of the first one, linked above. Good luck.

Thanks.
I'll have to look into that the next time I get to the library.
Once again, thanks.

I too used to draw canines a lot, then I tried my hand at felines. The main thing is this with each type:

domestic/small cats: Very small noses with large ears and eyes. Their body is usually thick and their paws a tad small. They look better with large whiskers.

big cats: A thick nose, slightly smaller than a canines. Their body is big and thicker, their paws big as well, with slightly smaller eyes.

smaller big cats (such as cheetahs): Skinny body with smallish paws and a small head, their eyes and ears being proportionate to their head.

Hope this helped some ^^
