Converting FreeRealms Meshes
« on: April 12, 2014, 10:10:49 pm »
So, i wanted to convert meshes from a game i used to play called FreeRealms. It shut down March 31st. The meshes in FR were gorgeous. I tried searching to see if anyone had converted them, but nobody did. So now, since i had FR downloaded to my computer, all the meshes and such are also on my computer. The meshes are in folders titled "Assets" and they have .pack extensions. I tried looking for tutorials on how to convert meshes, but i didnt find much. Can anyone tell me how to convert these or direct me to a tutorial on how to convert them? Thanks!

Try going into object maker and type in the name of the mesh and it's mat (if it has one, witch I think it should), if that doesn't work, it might be able to be done with coding or impossible to do, but I bet with the first thing or the coding, anything is possible... It's your world :3

First what you want to do is open Blender 2.49 I beleive, I will provide a download below if you don't have it. And open the mesh if possible into it. Then you can export the mesh as a .mesh by going to 'file' and go down till you find 'export' hover on it and click 'Ogre 3D Mesh(.mesh)' and you should be all set.
Or you can look at this tutorial to see if it can help you better(downloads can be found here as well: http://xruby1234x.deviantart.com/art/How-to-Make-Impressive-Title-Items-356893546
It's all the same stuff, just your making a mesh, so go to section one(l) to find what you need c: Hope this helps!

A .pack object will not load into Object maker, the extension has to be a .mesh to work with Ogre 3D rendering system. c:
