Multi Language Tool
« on: June 09, 2014, 01:19:13 am »
I have had this idea for a while, so I decided to tell you all. For the Multi Language tool, you can access a tool by the chat and choose English, Spanish, German, Portuguese Etc. Now I know we can't do it with out the source code, but it would be nice to speak other languages. What do you think of this idea?

I think this is a rather nice idea. Though, it would be rather confusing I guess. Easy to communicate (sooo spelt that wrong I think xD), but how would you know what someone is saying back? Other than that downside, it's a lovely idea, hun.

if it works anything like google translate, i'm not so sure. google translate is notoriously evil for translating things incorrectly! although most of it is okay, lots of it can be wrong, and it also gives different suggestions for things.

it's a helpful idea, but i'm not so sure it would work.

Thats a good idea! I also have an idea on how to know that person is talking about, after he/she is done talking, there would be a (Any color) text saying in english at the end of the sentence, It would be awesome if KovuLKD is here. Good idea.

Hmm. I'm a bit hesitant with the idea. While it does have its pros, I can also see cons alongside.

1. Let's refer to what ma'dam Shenidan stated:

I also have an idea on how to know that person is talking about, after he/she is done talking, there would be a (Any color) text saying in english at the end of the sentence,
I'd rather have the explanation sentence not just in English (since that would be quite unfair to other foreign players) but rather the sentence explain in whatever language setting that individual's computer software is. For example, let's say a Russian player uses this little language tool. At the end of the sentence of whatever foreign response they may receive, the explanation text isn't in English but Russian as well. That way it'll benefit all who use it and not just those who speak English. If I make any sense there.

2. As for the language tool in general, Ms. Spot has a very good point:

if it works anything like google translate, i'm not so sure. google translate is notoriously evil for translating things incorrectly! although most of it is okay, lots of it can be wrong, and it also gives different suggestions for things.
Not many can trust Google Translate so if the add-on is applied, it'd be most difficult tryin' to set it up with the vast variety of languages and phrases out there. In fact, it might be impossible altogether.

A creative idea, aye, but it's just too vague. The possibility of this actually happenin' is low, even if Kov was here, due to what I've just listed and more. It'd be a lot simpler if users simply spoke their native tongue freely like they've been doin' since the release of the game. I cannot support this idea but I give ye' credit for thinkin' outside the box, Ms.
