Map issue | Object glitch?
« on: June 29, 2015, 03:48:01 pm »
First off... If I'm posting this in the wrong place, I apologize!! I've never posted on the forums before..

Okay, so... I have been working on a map for the past two days, and I finally got it so it looks good and nice and how I wanted it.
I logged in and went into the map as one of my characters, and I realized right away that objects were not showing up. As I explored the map, I noticed the caves were also glitching, being soooo much bigger than they should.

The objects that were already on the game show up just fine. The objects I downloaded show up just fine.
But the objects I had to put through the object maker myself, they do not show up in-game.

What it looks like in map maker:

And.. how it looks after logging in:

I have exported the map and given it a friend of mine to see if the issue was with something on my laptop, or something wrong with the map in general.
He said the objects were showing up for him; Fluorite Crystals, Ferns, Mushrooms, Waterfalls, ect...
But the caves were doing the same thing for him; being huge.

Making the caves smaller in map maker does not change the size of them in-game. I've tried.
I have tried updating the objects through object maker. Re-exporting them. None of it is working.

I have searched Google and the forums and have been unable to find any answers to my problems.
Could someone maybe help me out a bit..? I really like this map and I want to be able to share it, maybe publicly in the future.

Hmm, check the map's object folder. If ye don't see the names of a few of y'er objects then that 'tis why they are not showing up. It could 'ave been a faulty export and it messed up y'er map. The game map and the map maker map are technically two different versions of the map. That is why one looks correct and the other does not. But if the objects are no longer showing in the Map Maker as well, then FH has deleted them from y'er map and unfortunately, they will need to be replaced.

As for the giant caves, I 'ave had this issue with a salmon mesh. Floofs who get my map say the fish are way bigger than the largest character possible. I am not quite sure if this is a FH glitch that will be fixed over time, or it may be an object glitch that will need to be reset to appear normal. Ye can always check the cave's file to see if any coding is messed up. Other than that, I 'ave no clue how to fix it.

Hope this helps ye. Good luck with the map, it looks gorgeous. <3

The map looks great, just so you know. c: As to your issues, as Enoki stated above, it's possible that the objects have been deleted from the file. If they have indeed been removed somehow from the game, you may have to re-download them or choose to use other objects in place of them. By any chance, have you checked any other previous maps that you've created? Are there any objects missing from them?

As for your over-enlarged caves, I would suggest deleting the cave file, and then to add it back in so that it resets. Check your previous maps. Are there any overly large caves that you can find? I'm not sure if I've been much help, but I hope you get your problem resolved.

If you define yourself by the power to take life, the desire to dominate, to possess… then you have nothing.

Ah, object files are found within the actual FH folder. (I will add some screenies once I get to my laptop.) They tell FH what the objects look like and how to position them in-game.

EDIT:
Head to y'er file explorer and click My PC. There should be a few options, but just follow the green.

The Terrains folder holds all y'er map files. This is where ye can see all the objects ye 'ave placed in the map and where they are exactly on a 3-dimensional plain by using the x, y, and z axis points.

Now just find y'er map folder and click it. I do not 'ave y'er map, so I will just be using the map Yugure as an example.

The object file holds every object ye 'ave in y'er map.

Just scroll on down the file until ye find the object labeled, "MyRocks/Cave." Please note that y'er numbers below the file will not look like mine, since they are placed in different spots.

Now if ye can't find certain object names like y'er ferns, waterfalls, and whatnot, that means they 'ave been erased. 'Tis not a common glitch that I know of, but it can happen. Ye will unfortunately just 'ave to replace them in the map.

And what Warrior meant by deleting the caves was to delete the actual file, not the cave meshes ye 'age in the map. (Again, I will provide ye with screenshots so ye know what y'er looking for.)

EDIT:
I will just start back at the beginning, but feel free to skip some screenies if ye wish to.

Now, instead of heading to the terrains folder, we will be going to objects. This is where the information to all y'er objects for maps are.

Head into MyRocks, this should hold y'er Cave information.

And there it should be! Do note that y'ers should be identical to my file. If not, that means they 'ave been tampered with and should be fixed back to this default setting.

And if the Cave coding was off, this may 'ave been y'er problem to begin with. If not, then at least ye now know how to travel through y'er Feral Heart files to find what ye need. Best of luck to ye floof. <3

Added the screenshots, as promised. If ye need any further explaining as to how to move around through the files, just let me know and I will be happy to assist ye!
