How do you type hyphens on Feralheart mac?

Hiya :3
 I recently switched from windows to mac, so I downloaded the feralheart mac version and installed it. Everything worked well, but then I tried to log in and it won't let me type hyphens in the log-in bar. Whenever I click '- - -' only blank space appears and nothing happens. Since my username includes hyphens, I can't log-in anymore.. Any ideas how to fix that? ;o; 
Also, I have a different keyboard (german version) so the z and y are switched, but it used to be the same on my windows laptop and still I was able to write and log-in normally.

Have you tried the new login?

Sure, but I had to re-download the original version because the update somehow didn't work. I already asked some other mac users, but they can't type hyphens as well. I guess I will have to recreate my chars on an other account then.. x3
