(Presets) Acceptable or neh?

i just wanted to know peoples opinion on this or the staff themselves to answer
so i clearly dont play FH anymore
however.....

recently i've come across a user on deviantart selling presets for FH
these said presets have MASS MARKINGS put onto them and just tiny edits (such as lazy spots or stripes added)
my sister actually commented on one that they should credit the fact it has mass markings someone else made on it, they hid her comment and ignored her

i dont actually approve of people selling presets which clearly has someone elses work (mass markings or original markings) added to it myself so i didnt like seeing it

i've always wondered if anything was made about it though
on if its acceptable to actually sell presets with such markings or not and so forth
so i was wondering what everyone else has to say about it? (staff especially)

I remember you can't add original markings to a preset, but other than that I have no clue.

To my knowledge this should be against the rules.
Since their using other peoples work most likely without their permission.
Anyway, thank you for bringing this to notice I'm sure the problem will soon get resolved. c:

I don't mind people making presets for self-usage, but selling it, to me, is quite a silly way of getting easy deviantArt points as the minor edits give little to no credit to yourself compared to the credit that should be given to the makers of the original mass markings. I have no doubt that the original makers would also be quite irritated to see their work used and not given any sort of mention whatsoever and the preset maker creates the impression that they are taking the credit for themselves; I for one would definitely not be too happy about my work being used to save time and effort for others' preset work.

I wouldn't go as far as disliking them for it, but it is basic cheating. Although, I haven't seen anything from the original mass markings creator saying that there is no permission given to use the markings, unless I am mistaken and just haven't seen it at all throughout my research.

I do prefer seeing preset-makers providing their viewers with their own time, effort and markings rather than using someone else's as a way of quickly making a preset to show off, but I do not control what they do and never will have any sort of power to do so. Selling the presets though, and for quite a high amount of deviantArt points, rather puts me off of ever considering buying a preset off of them as I'd be unsure what markings they used off of someone else; but I'll always appreciate the actual design and the choice of colours.

Unfortunately, since the mass markings do not belong to us or the game itself, Staff are unable to do anything about the use of mass markings on a preset, even if the user is selling these for profit. It would be the responsibility of the original creator of those mass markings to intervene and reprimand the user who was doing so, since the mass markings are their sole creation alone.

However, I would like to point out that the few default markings that were remade and included in the recent game patch were indeed made by staff, and are allowed to be used on presets.

I sincerely apologize that the unwarranted use of these markings upsets you, as I believe it would upset any other respectable artist, but unfortunately on behalf of the Staff, there is nothing we can do.
