Where to put exported textures for map sky?
« on: April 07, 2017, 12:53:10 am »
Where would the texture go if you made a map with a different type of sun and moon?  They show up find in map maker but don't display when exported.  i tried sky, textures ect where the sky items are normally found..  No luck.

The closest concept in english would be 'rustic'
They might have an old thing, one example is a favourite bowl or dish, it's broken, pieces are missing, why fix it?  With gold and pieces from other dishes?

I don't believe you can change the appearance of the sun or the moon in sky/map maker I'm afraid. If it were possible, there would be some sort of modification or cycle for the moon, just like you can have when controlling the weather pattern in your maps. However, you could provide a modification of the moon which will display in all maps for those who download it, but that's the only way.

If you need any help with modifying the moon in FeralHeart, I will gladly help you with that.

Edit; However, if you're wanting a moon installed to your game, just download one that someone may have made and place it into Local Disk (C:) \\ FeralHeart \\ Textures. Be sure to check that the image named moon and that it is a .png format. It will replace the default moon.

Worked for someone else. But they didn't tell me if their normal moon displays while on earth.

Hmm, I don't know.. Though maybe you should ask them personally. Though, I really don't believe it is possible to change the moon's texture for a specific map or sky.

It actually did work (my screenie up there) I really don't exactly know how, but on that particular map, my sun and moon look like the Earth as pictured, and in other maps (like the official ones) they are normal.

However I'm still not sure exactly how it happened. And it's strange the files didn't export into the sky folder.
