I really don't want to lose my Map progress - help!
« on: August 18, 2017, 02:34:04 am »
I have been working on a rather big map for my rp, Alluvium, and I really don't want to lose all my hard work! It has taken me months so far!

The idea of losing it is actually pretty scary, anyways, I will get to what happened.

I had saved my map progress, everything was working great, I exited out and have been away from FH for a week or two I would say. I haven't messed with any FH folders/files since then, but for some reason whenever I try to open the game it gives me a "feralheart.exe has stopped working" box.

am perfectly fine with reinstalling the game, I just really don't want to lose all my map progress. Is there a way to make it work again without losing that progress? Any help would be very much appreciated! [/size][/teal]

Check "FeralHeart > media > particles" for any duplicate particle files with names similar to "name_#" and delete them if there are any.

For the sake of my own health and interests, I've left FH and I won't be looking back.

Check "FeralHeart > media > particles" for any duplicate particle files with names simiar to "name_#" and delete them if there are any.

Already done, I hoped that would have solved my problems but sadly nay. I think it may have something to do with my items.cfg notepad not exactly matching the items I have (for whatever reason), but not quite sure how to fix that safely without making things worse.

Try to test if this has something to do with the item.cfg file. Move that file from the main FH folder and run FH again. You might have to remove item models as well.

I think it may have something to do with my items.cfg
To my knowledge, the items.cfg itself will not cause the game to freeze/crash, even with typos in it.

edit: Nvmd, I've been wrong before. My apologies. xD

Yay!
It's easier to delete the items.cfg folder, and probably all of the item models as well, and reinstall the custom items you have, unless you know how to fix it yourself.
