Help!! i run the game fine, but all i get is a black screen, icons and my animal

I'm not sure whats wrong, this is my first time using a forum too, so please bear with me, but there is nothing on the screen its black with just the icons, chats, animal and mouse pointer, please help

Welcome to the forum Jason! ~Welcome nuzzles~ (Nuzzles are like a karma thing, if you do something good someone may give you a nuzzle, nuzzles go to your floof-o-meter. The more floof the better!) In answer to you question, that happened to me as well when I first downloaded the game. I'm not sure how this did it, but I just re-started my game and it was no longer the dreaded FH black screen. There are lots of posts about this problem on the help forums look around and you can find other peoples solutions

ive started and restarted it many times, redownloading it as we type, and on another post someone recopied the map files, so im giving that a try. thanks for the advice!
