Sky maker help?
« on: May 30, 2012, 08:18:13 pm »
So I am making a simple map but I want it to be night ALL the time. How do I do that? I checked the sky maker tutorial but it doesn't say anything about it.

Easy, just when doing the different times of the day, slide the sliders all the way to the left. Black, black, black. (Or dark blue). You won't be able to get rid of the sun though. But it's hardly noticeable most of the time if you dim it down also.

i think you can change the sun texture to a transparent texture to delete the sun.
when you click "Sun" a material box appear, just never tryied it before.

To put sky in map, you just enter th- Heh. Here, this explains better;

Go to the sky maker part of that tutorial, she explains it well.

Ugh it's a wonderful explanation but when i type the file name it the sky doesnt change. Is it because i'm using the default map? I renamed it and stuff

Could be.

Make sure you're typing it in like the Sky file is saved as though.

Make sure you actually DID save it. If you have saved it, open it up in Sky Maker and try saving it as a different name (e.g. Night) and then type it in the Sky File box in Map Maker. Make sure it is exactly how you saved it, no need to add the .fhs (if your doing that). Just type in the name of the saved file.
Will be inactive due to work and exams.
