1) Hunting will be added in the future. Not sure when, but it's official and it's on the list.
2) Don't go with FH+. It has prettier graphics and larger maps, but it's super-buggy and it takes forever to get from point A to point B. There's no 'hunting' in FH+ either (though I think you can catch bugs in some of the maps). Anyway, if you do want to use FH+, I don't think it requires the original FH. It gets its own separate installation folder. And all of your characters from the original FH will be on FH+ because it uses the same server.
