Well, I just started playing FH, but I don't really... know how.... I'm REALLY confused on the concept of maps and things, like when I try to play, my character is just surrounded by black, and I'm alone. I'm really confused. And, how do you get into maps and things? Or do you have to make your own? If so, how do you do that? ;_; I know I sound really stupid, but I'm just confused about, literally, everything. Please Help Me!

The Black thing, it's a problem that happens to many. By any chance are you on FH +? I think it's may help to re download the game. Here is a tut to fix it: http://www.feral-heart.com/index.php?option=com_jfusion&Itemid=2&jfile=index.php&topic=13593.0

To get into maps you go in portals, if you mean downloaded ones, then you goth Cape of Distant worlds to go in them.

Hello and welcome to the Feral Heart community Kristen

First off which Feral Heart are you using? The black screen problem sounds more like a problem that is related to Feral Heart+. To fix that problem if you are using Feral Heart+ you can follow this link:

The thing is I wouldn't suggest that you use Feral Heart+ if that is what you downloaded. Feral Heart+ is not as well managed or updated as the regular Feral Heart and is therefore very buggy & glitchy. Stick to the regular Feral Heart and you will have less headaches. You can find the regular Feral Heart on the download page in fact it's the first download you see at the top.

On the other hand if you are not using Feral Heart+ what type of computer are you using? Did you maybe consider unistalling and reinstalling the game? Also sometimes a simple change in the game's video settings/rendering subsystem can help with the black screen problem. If you can access the main menu click where it says "options" and then video settings. Set your settings as so:
Switch between OpenGL or Direct3D9 rendering subsystem

As for your other questions basically Feral Heart is a 3D chat game where you can play as either a feline or canine avatar. There are several public maps you can chat and interract in but as you continue to learn more and explore more you'll learn how you can create your own custom maps and even download other people's custom maps. Maps can be accessed by using portals in the game. It's fairly easy to get around and discover things once you get the game running properly.
