Map Name Problem
« on: November 29, 2012, 05:37:28 pm »
I don't know if this has happened to anyone else, or it's something to do with the game server, but when I had finished the map I was making, I typed in the name and the display name and it came up with "Invalid name".
I'm guessing that means someone else has used it, so I tried another one, and it still said "Invalid name".... Ugghh  >:(
I've tried everythin'; not using capitals, not using spaces, not using the same display name for the actual name.... And, well if I have to mention the word "name" anymore I'm going to explode.  :'(
So could I have some assistance pleaze???
Thanks  ::)

Remember the Display name can have spaces, and the map name itself can not. Have you tried restarting yer game?

Well, obviously if I couldn't create a name, it wouldn't let me save the map, so I had to ditch it.
When I closed the game down, I had to go to the dentist, so I haven't been back on the map maker yet.
I'll try it again next week.
Oh, and thanks for the info.
I'll try naming the map without spaces and the dislpay name with spaces next time :)
I don't suppose whether you use capital letters in it has an effect?   :-/

You can use capital letters, they shouldn't effect it

You don't HAVE to use spaces in the display name either. Just, like Cloud said, the map name itself cannot have spaces. Oh...word of wisdom -.- DO NOT, WHATEVER YOU DO, DO NOT EVER type one of the FH map names into the map name your making...it will mess everything up -.- I was experimenting and put fhSouthPole for my map name and obviously the defeault map maker terrain is savannah grass...it made my in-game South Pole all savannah grass and my portal had disappeared x.x

You are amazing <3

Heheh, well, I think I would have been sane enough not to name my map one already in FH... ;)
Anyway, I deffinatley know what to do now people :D
But I must ask: why no spaces in the map name? I mean, it's not like its going to cause trouble or anythin'.

Not everything has to make sense, sir~
Why can't there be any spaces in a map name? Because it was coded that way. It /doesn't/ cause' any trouble- but it's still that way. :33.
