The Tragedy of Newtown, Connecticut

Now, if I would ever post in this section, it would be about something random, non-helpful, and just plain insanity. But, when I was told about what happened in Connecticut, I checked this area for posts about it. No one has posted, because either people are grieving, or, their posts were deleted by the admins, to keep the spirits somewhat up. Everyone Ive seen in-game have been talking about it, and one subject, Gun Control, caught my attention. Now, me personally, I think gun control won't help. IDIOT control will. Its people like that shooter that need to be contained. To think, this is something I thought would NEVER happen. But apparently, someone thought of it, and soon something happened that even shook the president. In elementary, I thought this kind of crap was awful, and feared that it would happen to our school. Not because it has happened here, but because of things people say. Sure, it has probably happened to other schools, but those were high schools and such. To have this happen to children 5-10, is sickening. I may not like children very much, but it still touched me when I learned about this.
One thing that made me happy about it, though, is that one teacher had put her students into a bathroom, and refused to open the door when the police came, not believing it was actually cops. That proved to me that teachers can actually care about your safety. I hope that you people will take lock-down drills more seriously, and not kid around.

Michigan passed a law where people can carry guns into what used to be 'no-gun' zones, such as bars, schools, and other places similar to those. The individuals have to have extra training in order to be considered safe for it before they could actually carry the weapon in those areas, but I really don't like the idea at all, even if the whole tragedy in Connecticut didn't happen I would.

Train people all you want, they will still be idiots. If people can't pass a type of emotional control test then they shouldn't be allowed, and bars should be out of the question.

My mom and sister have been extremely quiet do to this and I've been a little quiet because of it too. It's really sad what happened to those kids.

Teachers in my area talk about how much they care about the students they teach on multiple occasions so I know that they'd willingly take a bullet for any of the kids they teach. It really does bother me that no one takes lock-downs seriously at all. Our school has so many windows so it's really hard to find a hiding spot for drills.
