Connection issues?
« on: December 29, 2012, 01:32:00 pm »
OK. So well first of all thanks for clicking this topic XD Now to get to the main point - yesterdsay I was rping in a custom map and all of a sudden I started loosing connection every other 10 mintues. A few other people started loosing connection too, (I know because in the chat box it said "......... has lost connection" plus their characters were going poof) But then something weird happened. A few mintues after somebody had lost connection, (they were in my group)it said "......... is online" but it didn't say "........ has arrived" or something until a few mintues after the "...... is online" part. And when it said "...... is online", I couldn't see the person's character/nametag. It was like they were invisible o.O, and they didn't appear until the "..... has arrived" part. At first I thought it was a glitch, and I lost connection again. I closed my fh and re-opened it, and I kept loosing connection! My internet is fine, I kept checking it and looking on the forums to see if anyone else was having this issue. Finally I just gave up and went to do something else. Then today, I logged on and went to Atlantis, (which was really empty when I came it) and I lost connection again!  I had recently exported a map, and it crashed my fh because of particles. I deleted the particles, and my fh was fixed. It was ok afterwards, and then a few days later it started doing the connection thing. I also downloaded a new map the day before yesterday, and there were giant floating bushes everywhere! There were also like 50 new portals in Cape. And I had downloaded just one .fhm file :/ So... I cleaned out my exports, and kept the good stuff. Then I went into fh and checked it all my maps to make sure that the map I had downloaded was the only one which had floating meshes. Luckily, all my maps were ok - and the new one was the ONLy one where there were floating bushes in one area. Does the map exporting/new map download have anything to do with the connection thing? Or is it something with the servers? Please help! :o

This seems like a very strange issue- which appears to be caused by the map in which you and your friends were roleplaying in.

I'd suggest saving all the maps you'd want in a seperate folder and uninstalling then re-installing FeralHeart-- it's the only solution I can think up of! I apologize if this doesn't help~

Well I've had that map for quite some time, so I don't know why it's acting up now :/

This is definately a bigger problem then something exclusive to just that map... the first part about others losing connection is most likely due to the server since it derps out every so often but the issue with the multiple portals and floating meshes is something you'll have to fix yourself.
That being said, have you tried double checking your particles folder again for double particles? As Milleniuco said Alastar if you can't find any try uninstalling the game and deleting the main folder and then reinstalling. Just be sure to back up any important files like your personal map or preset creations etc.

OK. So I made a back-up of my exports folder, then deleted everything inside. Then I went to my downloads and found all the good maps, and put them back in my exports. I haven't lost connection yet, but if I do I'm gonna do as you guys said ;)

I hope all stays good for you but if it doesn't consider just getting rid of the last new map you downloaded. It could be that there's a problem with it or if you know the creator of it you can always message them about the problem. Goodluck

Noooooo! I just lost connection in Lonely Cave DX I guess I'll have to re-install...... It was fine yesterday

EDIT:Ok, I back-uped everything and un-installed my FH. I'm gonna re-install it now - wish me luck!

EDIT2:Ok so I un-installed FH on my laptop, and now everytime I go to the FH site > downloads and click "feralheart setup" download it takes me back to the homepage! Why won'yt it let me download? I've logged in and out countless time and I've aloso re-opened my browser a couple times.  :'(

EDIT3:Ok, I finally found FH i my downloads folder, and installed that. Everything was OK, and I put all the good things back in. My markings and mods were messed up after that, but I just fixed them today. And no, I don't think it was the map I was in, because I've had that map for a long time. My mom said she was having connection issues too, so I don't know, maybe my connection /was/ the problem. Any who, I fixed FH and restored my mods and stuff. I lost connection once so far, but I think it's my connection this time.
