Map names won't show up

Once again, im derping out. You know how whenever you come close to a portal, the name pops up? Well mine wont do that, so i have to go into the portal to see what it is. How do i change this?

as long as they lead somewhere, the game is supposed to load the names of these portals for you. have you tampered with any material files? I can't think of anything that could have caused this unless it was something being done to the files. Is it only with custom maps, or is this happening with the in-game maps as well?

I'd say a quick reinstall would help this in a speedy way.

I havent tampered with anything, and its only with custom maps.
