Muting Logins/Disconnections

I thought that "actions" was the channel with the orange chat that announces logins, disconnections, etc, but unchecking this box doesn't appear to do anything. Is this user error, or do I need to try to re-install my game?

If this is user error, can someone please tell me how to do this correctly?

You can turn off arrival/orange chats by going to Options>>Interface>>Arrival Chat Name Type, and selecting "Don't Show."
