I was thinking that we could have another, or more layers for the markings. At least for the colors.
What I mean is, sometimes I see wolves (nobody in general, just an example) running around with a white pelt.
For their markings, let's say they have 'mask' for head, 'scar' for body, and one of the ring markings for the tail. Each of the markings are the same color, so if they chose black for the markings, the scar would also be black.
It's not such a great idea, I know, and if there is another post about this idea, you can delete this. ^-^
