Patterns In Favorite Characters
« on: October 23, 2013, 02:37:36 pm »
I have noticed that the characters I like that I have made or in TV shows kind of all have personalities
that are alike.  Does anyone else have something like this?

Yuki sohma from Fruits Basket

Marucho from Bakugan

Prowl from Transformers Animated

Ury? Ishida from Bleach

Noba from Bleach (Not the lion toy!  That is just Kon....)

I've noticed that when it comes to male characters, I tend to fall for the "Gentle Giant"-types.

Queequeg from Moby Dick.

The Iron Giant. (this movie makes me cry EVERY SINGLE TIME I SEE IT)

Hellboy.

With female characters, I go for the "badass but ladylike"-type.

Mary Poppins. She can bend the laws of the universe to her every whim, but rather than destroy the world with her great power, she chooses to help families in need. That's pretty badass if you ask me.

Sakaki from Azumanga Daioh. Technically, she's more of a 'Gentle Giant', but she's pretty badass, too.

Nausicaa from Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind. Not only is she a powerful warrior and an expert pilot, she's also a greenthumb who loves both people AND animals.

For some reason badass females get on my nerves, I don't got any idea why.  Notice none of my favorite characters are female.  I don't know why but I just don't like them, even all my roleplay characters are male.  Its weird since I am female.  *Shrugs*
I don't know any of these characters but the Iron Giant.  I loved that movie.

I like the quiet and smart characters btw.  Apart from Marucho, he isn't quiet at all.

I'm the same way about outrageously tomboyish girls. It's fine if we have a girl who likes to do "boyish" things, but if they take it too extreme, it just seems like they're trying too hard to be "accepted" by the boys, as if the only way to be a legitimate member of society is to be male, and to be female is a second-rate lifestyle. What's wrong with being girly?

That's why I like the "badass-but-ladylike" girls. They're tough, but are still proud of their femininity.

I also like adorkable, naturally quirky characters. The fish-guy in my signature, Abe Sapien, is pretty adorkable. :3

I love 2 personalities...

The southern girl with a gun.
The wise old person who is still sassy.

The end.

I usually fall for the guys that are "Tough" on the outside, but soft on the inside as well as the "Nerdy" types. I think they're adorable~ <3

~Shikigami~ I like the tough guys that are soft on the inside as well.  They just don't rank on the top.
