Internet issue? Not entirely sure.
« on: July 04, 2014, 11:52:52 pm »
I have a quick question that won't take long, but I've never had the issue before and I am a bit curious.

I signed into FeralHeart, selected a character, and loaded the map, but nobody would show up anywhere? Like.. saying nobody was online. It wouldn't show where my home was when I tried to click 'go home,' and showed that a friend was online, but didn't say where.

I think it's because my internet is really bad, but I'm not sure. If you could give me an explanation about this, that would be great. Thanks!

I think it may be due to internet, not entirely sure. Some maps are less populated then others, depending on where you are, if it is Lonely Cave, no one else may be in the map with you, as it is the main spawn point. You can try clicking 'go home' as sometimes this will glitch and not show, and see what it does. Or, try this:

How To Change Your Rendering System

In this little tutorial, it will show you how to change your rendering system in-game and not. Some examples from others may be found, but will be in the Works Cited giving proper credit to the original creator.

Changing Your Rendering System In-Game & At The Main Menu
Game not opening up? Sometimes the main cause is the rendering system lagging the application out causing a crash, or the rendering system being to strong for your computer to handle. The easy solution below will include step by step what to do, and how to perform it correctly, hope it can be helpful <3

Quote

Right click the game icon on your desktop and select "Properties"
then click on "Compatibility and follow the instructions in the image above.
When you reach the dropdown box, select the format you are using~
Finally, click "Apply" then "OK".
As the image and quote above say, find your desktop Feral Heart icon, right click and go to 'Properties', after you have done this click the tab saying 'Compatibility' and use the dropdown menu and select what windows program your computer is running off of. After you have done that, click 'Apply' and then 'Ok'.

If the solution above dosn't help, refer to the tutorial below.

Quote
Render System=Direct3D9 Rendering Subsystem
[Direct3D9 Rendering Subsystem]
Allow NVPerfHUD=No
FSAA=0
Floating-point mode=Fastest
Full Screen=No
Rendering Device=Monitor-1-AMD Radeon HD 7700 Series
Resource Creation Policy=Create on all devices
VSync=No
VSync Interval=1
Video Mode=1280 x 800 @ 32-bit colour
sRGB Gamma Conversion=No
[OpenGL Rendering Subsystem]
Colour Depth=32
Display Frequency=N/A
FSAA=0
Full Screen=No
RTT Preferred Mode=FBO
VSync=No
VSync Interval=1
Video Mode=800 x 600
sRGB Gamma Conversion=No

Copy and paste this above and overwrite your 'ogre.cfg' file, then hit 'Save'. Once you have done this, click your Feral Heart desktop icon and run the application. If it does open, go to 'Options' on the main screen and click 'Rendering Subsystem' under the 'Video' tab and change it to 'Direct3D9' then relaunch Feral Heart. If it does not open, either try re booting your computer or referring below.

How to Change Your Rendering System
~Windows 7 and 8~

Method number 1~

First, go into C: > Feralheart. If you look at the FH main folder, you will see a flie called:
'orge.cfg'
Click it, and open it with 'NOTEPAD'.

Look at the first two lines in the orge.cfg file. That is where you change your rendering system.

If you followed everything that was typed and the instructions in the pictures, you should have successfully switched your rendering system.

Method number 2~

Turn on FH!
On the main screen, you will see this:

Click options, and go to video. Click 'Rendering System.'

Then just simply switch your rendering system.

Note that sometimes method 2 doesn't awlways work- That's why I listed the orge.cfg file first. ^^

Good luck! Hope this helped those who don't know how to change their rendering system!~

This quote mostly explains so, yeah, follow that and you should be a'okay!

Ah, it was just my internet. I checked it again once I got home, and it's working completely normal. I thought it was strange for Flourite Plains to not have anyone in it..

Thank you for the help, anyways! I will keep the rendering in mind for another issue. c:
