Rivers with waterfalls/pools of water?

I noticed that Ficho Tunnel has a small pool, which feeds into a waterfall, which feeds into a small river below that, and a similar one in Red's Map Pack (the Grounds I think), and I was wondering if someone could help me in making one myself...?

Also, how do I create an individual body of water separate/independent from the in-game ocean...?

It's really quite simple, actually! All you have to do is pay attention to the shades of grey you use in your height map.

Please forgive how sloppy it is, it's only for showing you an ex. of what you have to do.

To get the actual water in the top part, in map maker you object and hit 'new water' at the bottom. It should generate some water for you to place wherever you want, and all you have to do is resize it to fit the little top pool.

And then, once you have that, you can add the in-game ocean as you normally would.
