Random Black Splotches All Over Preset o.O
« on: December 30, 2015, 12:06:35 am »
I'ma make this real short.
I'm making a preset. It looks great in Gimp and there's no random colors where they shouldn't be. Then I go onto Feral-Heart and into Preset Maker. Load my preset, click ok, use f3. Now I see a ton of black squares all around my markings and they aren't there on Gimp. (As shown belows) Can anyone tell me if/how to fix this? Would they go away once I add the fur shade?

Sometimes with Gimp, unwanted colors might appear on presets while in-game (usually however these colors will appear on the files). How are you exporting your files? With .png or .jpg? I'd try using .png since it gives better quality

As Kiki has mentioned above, make sure to export using .png since quality is much better than .jpg, just remember to change the file type in y'er .cgf file as well so the preset shows up correctly in the Preset Maker.

What I'm seeing that may be the issue is the pixels. It looks like ye used the pencil tool to make y'er preset, which shows up pixel-like and can sometimes cause discoloration. If y'er not going f'er a pixel look, try using the blur tool and smooth out the edges of the markings to see if that fixes the issue.

Tmw you planned a ten minute nap but instead took a whole year.

I do agree with the floofies who are trying to help you! :) Try and use a more smoother brush because when I do my presets, unwanted colors appear when I use brushes with sharper edges and it is not pleasant. And Enoki I have to fix you on this one, it is the material file. :3 Hope you didn't mind.

Tell us how everything goes!

Oh! Y'er absolutely right! M'mistake, dreadfully sorry. 'Tis the material file and not a .cgf. X3
