How do I make items?
« on: January 10, 2016, 07:28:18 am »
I want to know how to make items my avatars can wear, and I've tried looking up tutorials, but the only things that came up were preset packs, item packs or how to make presets. So far I know how to turn map objects into items, but not how to actually make my own items. I specifically want to learn how to make necklaces.

To make items, you need to have a program that you can create 3D objects in. This is one I have seen popular among other users who have created items:

http://www.autodesk.com/products/maya/overview-dts?s_tnt=69290:1:0

Look just under "START FOR FREE" and click the thing about free for 3 years if you want more time to use it. It might be better if you click the first option but I'm not sure. Either one will get you the program you would need to make items.

Hope I could help! ^.^

In order to make items or any mesh  (generally speaking), you would need Blender or any 3D program. Good luck.

Blender 3D is free: Click

You will also need an extension to export from Blender.
Click For Extension

Ogre Tools (version 1.7.2)
Click Me

Go to your "blender2ogre-0.5.9" zip folder. Extract the file "io_export_ogreDotScene.py".

Place this file into: Blender Foundation/Blender/2.68/scripts/addons

MAKE SURE you place this file with the other .py files, in case you accidentally put it in one of the subfolders by chance.

Open Blender. Click on "File" on the toolbar at the top of your screen. It'll have a drop-down menu.

On the File menu, click on User Preferences. A window will pop up.

Select the "Addons" tab. Then from there, select the "Import-Export" category on your left.
Scroll down until you see: "Import-Export: OGRE Exporter". This shouldn't be too hard, as everything is in alphabetical order.

And it should be all set.

If you want to export your item, go to Export and hit Ogre Meshes (.mesh) c:

Hope this helps~

Now check the box and Save User Settings.
