Glitches Galore
« on: September 04, 2017, 06:11:40 pm »
Alright, so this is a doozy, but:

1. Out of 110% nowhere, while creating a map I've been working on for three days without issues, the game gets glitchy and laggy as heck, and the music bugged out, so i restarted my computer but the game is still being laggy, in or outside of the map maker. It's just slow and laggy and it's never done that on this laptop before.

2. When I went into Cape, my map was there in two separate portals for some reason, and then.....

3. I went into the map to see what was up and discovered that random things in the map are gone. And I know it's not a saving issue because only certain things were gone such as the door to the castle, the entire forest of trees I made(but the herd of bison are still there) ;-;, the rock slabs that were inside the castle(but the flowers that surrounded the rocks are still there), logs from a camp missing, and the music that I added is no longer playing, yeahh.... And I created the map in this order, so I know it's not a saving issue:
 - I began with one castle, which is intact but missing the rocks and the door, then I did a campsite, which is totally unchanged, then I made the other campsite which has all of the logs by the fire missing, then I did the forest and bison, in which all of the trees there are gone, and then placed a gas station, ships, cars, and a plane as well as some roads, and all of those are still in place. And finally, I placed a house and was putting up fencing when the lag bomb dropped and this all began. Have you know, the house and fence are still there too!

The weird part about this is that when I go into the map maker and load the map, everything is still there, except:

4. I added music to the map and it's been working fine for three days, but now it doesn't work in-game or in the map maker, even though the file is still in the music.cfg and everything.

5. When I went back into Cape, the other portal to my map was gone, and all of the portals currently keep rearranging themselves like some prank or something...

Again, I didn't do anything, I was innnocently working on the map when it glitched and hiccuped and froze up and got weird. And when I logged back in, BAM!

Thank you for reading this mess!

Wow, you certainly do have a lot happening right now. o:
Hopefully some these things can fix the issue ( as I have had similar issues myself when I was making maps ).

For starters, make sure that your computer didn't move ANY of your files.
Sometimes during updates, the computer will move files around the computer or even get rid of things that's not supposed to be removed. It happens to the best of us and it can't be a little frustrating but make sure that everything, is in fact, still where it's supposed to be.

Make sure that it isn't a rendering issue.
I think depending on certain rendering systems, certain items would show / not show currently in a map. I think that happened once or twice for me and I didn't understand why only some things were coming up while others weren't... So I won't count that as a missing file or anything.

Try backing up all your files and then uninstall FH completely and add a couple things in at a time.
I know this one is a bit tedious and I usually use this as a last resort in case it isn't my game itself that's giving me issues. I believe I had to do this a couple of times or so just to be on the safe side and it's worked thus far. Like I said, this should probably be used as a last resort amongst anything else.

Try removing the specific item that's missing, save the map and then add it back in again and check to see if the problem persists.
Sometimes this does the trick for me. Simply adding / removing objects just to be sure it's not just some silly glitch on my end. Try having someone test the map out as well to see if the problem is one sided or not.

Double Portals.
I'm not entirely sure why it does this for me as well, but I think when my friend was testing it out, it would either be there or not so I'm 5O / 5O with this issue. I'm gonna have to do some further investigation unless someone knows the answer to this. But it still works no matter which Portal I run to.

Hopefully something gets sorted out though. I could be overlooking some things or getting some issues mixed, but this is just solely based on my experience and not everyone is the same way. Good luck o:

Keep on traveling across this road called 'Life.'

5. When I went back into Cape, the other portal to my map was gone, and all of the portals currently keep rearranging themselves like some prank or something...
I've seen the portals in  cape rearrange, I couldn't pinpoint what exactly causes the portals to swap spots. (But I've theorized that the portals get up and move around when I'm not logged in, those sneaky portals)

I have two portals to my wedding map, I'm guessing one portal leads to the exported map while the other is the one from the Map Maker.

My presets.

Good things take time, so I'll take an eternity and create something so good that the human brain can't handle the sheer goodness of it.
