How do I zoom?

My character takes up a big chunk of the screen while I am doing things in the game and I would like to zoom out so I can see more of my surroundings. How do I do that?

Press and hold down the scroll wheel if that's possible, then move the mouse either backwards or forwards.

That's the only way, there's is no way to set this to another key or such in the options menu, which means your mouse must support mouse wheel clicks.
