Terrain Height Map Problem!!
« on: August 05, 2011, 10:09:00 am »
Hey, so I followed the instructions for the height terrain map given in the 'documentation' section on the site, but when I try to upload my map onto my map the whole program shuts down... does anyone know why it keeps doing this? I'd really, REALLY appreciate your help!! Yes, I have checked out the posted help and followed all of the instructions... but none of them work! My computer continues to crash!! I can't figure it out...

Is it in png file, try to change to jpg

I tried all of that... I've even used the watermill terrain - after covering and redoing it - and saved as... I don't know what I'm doing wrong, but nothing seems to work. Is it possible to not smudge it good enough and have it overload??

Requirements:
513x513
Grayscale
Is now, and was always one layer

Things to try:
Switch the format to something else, then back.
Copy the image, close out the image so the image program is blank, and paste it in, then flatten it, and save it.
Switch it from Grayscale to RGB. then back to Grayscale.

Like ruby said before these things are a must and if they are not done correctly FH map maker will crash-

1) Make sure that it is in Greyscale and not RGB mode
2) Make sure the dimentions of the heightmap are 512 by 512 or 513 by 513. Sometimes mine works with 513 and some times with 512(scale the image down or up)
3) Make sure that it is a single layer- Should say at the top [insertnamehere].png (layers-1) something along those lines :p- if you cant see that press ctrl+L and bring up the layers delet any unessisary layers.
