Kali followed Yazoo for a little while, then broke away towards the scent of a young deer. She crouched down and slipped through the grass. Suddenly, she spotted it. A little deer. Creeping up, she could not smell its parents; they must be gone. She lowered herself, and her hind legs sprang out like springs, and she landed on the defenseless deer. After a few seconds of struggling, the deer went limp, and for the first time, she saw that the deer was blind. She whined, and started to drag the small body back to the pack. She did take a bite from her prize, but she knew better than to devour it all. It was small, but at least they wouldn't starve.
