For me.. the flaw with having realistic hunting in FH is that Wolves and Cats hunt in completely different ways. A wolf will chase their prey for miles. While most cats focus on ambush and quickly bringing down a prey animal.... But maybe I'm being *too realistic lol

But I do agree that prey would be nice. Something to do when you don't want to RP xD

@Maslien I'm pretty sure they will add the same feature like in IT where you can stalk your prey until you're close enough to chase it. So you can hunt in different ways :P

But yeah they should try to make it more realistic by not getting clumps of random animals together. Although they did use animals that would usually be found together; maybe they could do it so they group into their own little herds?

...And I'm pretty sure wolves stalk their prey too o3o

I would LOVE hunting, it was really the only thing I did in IT since I didn't RP too much.

And I liked WQ for a while, don't much anymore, but some of the concepts would be cool for FH. Just in a different way :P

Scent tracking would be kinda cool, and drinking and eating yeah. I know there was more I was going to say but I forgot.  :/ It always annoyed me the Scents for the herds of Elk and such went in a PERFECTLY STRAIGHT line...

Personally, I think hunting would add an entirely new dimension to roleplaying, especially for people like me who like the realistic side of things. Say, if you actually HAD to provide food for your pride/pack. You could store food in cashes, and stray players could act as scavengers that could attempt to steal from your cashes.

I think the best way to implement it would be having different settings to the game. As in Free Play, wherein you don't have to worry about a health bar, stamina, hunger, or anything like that, Survival where you would be forced to eat and drink to survive, and PvP wherein you could physically attack other charachters outside of RP.

So say, if you were running a very realistic rp map, you could set it as PvP and Survival together, so that fights could break out among the pride members and food would have to be hunted for and brought back to the dens, or if you were doing a more whimsical or story based rp you could set it to Free Play so you don't have to worry about such things.

I dunno, I personally really hope for a survival mode. Would make pride roleplays much more... immersive.

I like that idea, Mudsnout. Sounds like a good idea to have hunting, survival and free play settings. :D

I agree with Zarago, WolfQuest is a perfect example of hunting:
Specific Hunting grounds,
Mixed prey, also, different preditors, like a Coyote that can scavenge. Keep it up!
I do indeed like the idea.

Honestly, I also have to... semi agree with the wolfquest thoughts. I'm personally not a big wolfquest fan, but honestly the reason why is because WQ was supposed to be COMPLETELY realistic. FH is not. THerefor a mildly unrealistic hunting system isn't going to 'break' the way that FH is played, you know? especially since people won't be doing nothing but grinding for items now.

Scent tracking = no. But Mudsnout has a good idea.

I think this would be a great idea. The fighting-hunting style sounds entertaining. c:

I'm really liking this hunting thing, but I think stamina is taking it too far. PVP isn't a bad idea though, would be a great way to roleplay pride wars
