As mentioned above, that seems like a driver issue or outdated hardware.

Computers and the hardware that's within it works like any quality product out there, and as time passes by it looses it. Feralheart went through an ogre update, and it's possible that it changed a few things.

If you use a computer that's 5 years old there's some sort of issue that can arrive if you play a game that was made at current day(doesn't have to be though).

Since this is an issue about how your game are being rendered it wouldn't hurt to check if you by any chances could update your video card drivers for the computer. I update mine at least 4 times each year if not more often.

Not saying it must be the drivers for your graphics card, but updating it every once in a while never hurts.

my pc is not even 2 years old ... and I don't know how to update drivers

I asked my dad to update my graphic card, but there is no update.
my pc updates apparently from itself.
so ... it's not my graphic card ...

My computer is only 3 years old, they said the graphics card shouldn't need updating. I hope we figure out what's going on, I really cant play FH with the lag and crashes. I could live with the grass and reflection issues, but..

Driver update guys. New drivers sometimes arrive every month so 3 years without updating it is a long time aye.

You never said they were either xD

Just trying to help. Switch of rendering modes,  lower ingame settings, driver updates and repatching maybe even a clean install of the game should do it.

Switching rendering modes doesn't work. The settings wont save.
Lower ingame settings help with the lag, but only a little.
Drivers are up to date.
Repatching makes the game not load at all.
Clean installs haven't helped, I've reinstalled at least 5 times since the "patches of doom".

This is so frustrating x______x

IT should work setting rendering modes. Try both using the ogre.cfg and open it with notepad, then set the rendering mode there.

It should always be able to switch one way or another especially if you go in the game, change rendering modes, then restart the game, if it doesn't change the rendering mode in that little box that pops up with settings after an ingame change, close it down and run the icon once again. Really try different things.

Cause if you aren't able to switch between two rendering modes, something is either wrong with the copy of the game you have installed or the computer itself not able to use the given rendering mode.

If I switch it in-game, it tells me to restart the game to save settings. I do so, and go back into the game settings, only to find that it didn't switch. Same goes for the water reflections.
I've tried switching rendering modes after reinstalling the game, so I guess its my computer.
I don't know how to use the ogre.cfg and set the rendering mode in notepad?

Open C:\FeralHeart

Inside there's a cfg file called "ogre". Open it with notepad and then set the top row of the text to the other rendering mode that's given inside of it.
