Constantly Crashing- Help?

As the title indicates, ever since I downloaded the new patch the game keeps on crashing (as in, there is an error message from Windows indicating that the program has stopped responding). This happens when I play normally as a character and when I try to load my height map in the map maker. Do you think it is an issue with the patch or just my computer? (I had made a map  and played sucessfully prior to downloading the patch and since then have encountered my issue). Thanks if anyone can shed light on this issue, its really annoying

Theres another person with a issue like this one. its not responding you say? thats a common issue. if you havent tried this before, restart you computer. if that doesnt work, i really cant help :I
