Akbar grumbled under his breath as he watched his mother walk in circles. She had been in a terrible mood all day, and now that his younger brother had gone missing, she was livid. She snarled as she turned, beginning to pace a different route. Shaking his head, he watched her, waiting for her to lash out, to calm down, or run elsewhere. Quite frankly he was just tired of her attitude.
Rising, he decided he'd leave before being told to. Shaking the dirt from his pelt, he padded away from the tree and headed for the river.
As he crossed the plains, he neared the pride lion's territory. They had control of the river, and had for years. His family often had to pick their way across. Some of the males of the pride enjoyed chasing them off.
The sun continued to beat down on him, causing him to pant slightly. Letting his eyes slide shut for a few moments, he cursed as he was sent fumbling to the ground after tripping over something. "For the love of..." He had scrambled to his feet, turning to see a cublet laying in the grass.
Narrowing his eyes, he poked his face close to her's, arching a brow. "What's up, cublet?"
The lion cublet just stared at him, rolling to her stomach and staring straight back at him. She narrowed her brows in confusion before returning to the nonchalant face she held before. In turn, he narrowed his eyes at her, and determined he decided, he would befriend this cublet.
