Minty eyes scanned the area boredly, a dull, humorless expression resting on her features. The small built female climbed onto a nearby rock before plopping down on her haunches. This was a new land, a new place to explore. The possibilities were vast, spreading out to even endless. Nirei should be excited, but found a growing ball of anxiety building in her gut. A new place, a fresh start, it was supposed to be happy, and yet the wolf couldn't bring herself to smile. With the possible new outcomes of a strange place, came the unfavorable ones. What if the locals were hostile and chased off? What if they did worse and she ended up with something worse off then a slightly blind left eye.
A frown formed on her lips, eyes darting up to the sky. Soft, white, fluffy clouds floated leisurely above, not a care in the world. How great would it be to have no worries? If only that were the case. The wind picked up slightly, caressing her silky cream fur gently. The young female leaned into the invisible force slightly. It was almost comforting, reassuring, a gentle sweet scent lingering faintly. It reminded her of home. A home she no longer had. Sure the den was still there but those she cared for most were not. Where had they gone to?
'I was so far in my studies too..' She thought bitterly, ears feathering back. There was still hope though, wasn't there? A chance to move on with her life and grow? A puzzled yet determined air danced in her eyes, letting her gaze sweep once more across the land. As much as she missed home, she had to keep going, one day at a time. It'd all work itself out in the end. A simple flick of her tail and she hopped down, padding off in a randomly chosen direction to face whatever her future held.
