Electra growled, advancing on the remainders of the Pokemon. Electricity spewed from her jaws as she shot a dark-eyed glare at them, though words were not needed, as her eyes said it all. "Move," the Electrike barked, lunging at an Oddish, who was peeking at the edge of the crowd. The Oddish let out a wail that abruptly stopped as Electra tackled it, sending it flying into the grass. She didn't want to have to hurt the wild Pokemon, but if it came to a fight, the canine would.

Nyla's legs buckled as Metis crashed into her. She let out a surprised gasp and toppled into a nearby crystal, her flames slowly dying as she lost health. After a few moments of struggling to her to her hooves, she stood shakily to hear Tensu shout and water flying across the cave. Another Beldum floated toward her, its one eye gleaming in anger.

"B-b-B-b-B- Beeelllll..." The Ponyta held back a shiver as the ringing voice of the Steel-Type echoed in her ears, sending out a robotic, emotionless screech as it backed up to ram her. Breathing in and raising her head, Nyla shot fireballs from her mouth, a rapid-firing Ember.

"Beeeeeeeeeeeee-eee-elll!" The Beldum screeched again, this time its voice consisting of pain and fury as it smacked against a crystal, a shatter following as the gem cracked under the force. But after a moment's hesitation, the Beldum was mysteriously up and ready to fight again, though injured by the previous attack. Fire-Type moves are double the damage toward Steel-Types, the horse Pokemon thought with a neigh-- but the floating scrap of steel was still brave enough to face the challenge. It charged toward her, chips of stone surrounding it. Stone Edge! Nyla reared up and met the Beldum head-on, her head lowered until she suddenly jumped and used Ember yet again. "B-BBBBB-EEEEEEEE--" was the answer from the opponent as it was shot towards a puddle of water that had gathered in a small corner of the cave.

(Thanks Warrior~ owo)

"Everyone, if you wan to leave, then raise your hand!" Kyeshui joked, chuckling to himself after he made his rather pointless announcement. He wasn't expecting it, but praticly all the Poke'mon raised a hand or a leg or, wel...even a tongue if they had to. Kyeshui was actually quite unsure on how exactly one was to reply to that. It had to be one of the most awakward moments of his life. Finnaly, he managed to comprehend what to say back to the much weaker grass-types. "Umm....your free to go?" Almost immediantly after he said it outloud, the Poke'mon began to hurridly clear away from the area, hiding in the trees or in the tall grass. "That was- too easy...." he said blankly, though he looked around the area abit to see if any of the Poke'mon were still out in the open. The only thing he saw was the bulbsaur scramble intp some bushes.

"Huh? Wait- WHAT?" L demanded when a Bulbasaur, who he recongized as Leafe told him about an exploration team that had scared eveyone back into the very depths of the foresy. L had a little system with the Poke'mon native to the forest; he would give them they're share of stolen treasures and money if they gave him daily reports and kept they're mouths shut about him. "I'm terribly sorry L-sama, but they were really tough!" The bulbsaur blurted out, shuffling his stubby paws as if he was afraid that L would lash out at him. Of course, L was much to cool and calm to do that, and only replied with an "It's Kay, I'll deal with them myself. I've done it alot of times..."

Tetra

The snivy gave a smirk of victory, brushing off a small crystal fleck from her shoulder. Tetra then turned her sleek head to find a pile of Beldum, their steel bodies dented and their charismatic eyes both replaced with comical swirls. After the uproar of the battle, she found herself with more adrenaline than she had ever though she could muster. "Oh yeah! I could definately go for that again!" She cried with excitement, her leafy hands tightening into fists.

The grass snake returned to her teammates, careful not to step upon the shards of crystal that now scattered the damp earth, a curtesy of her own powerful Leaf Tornado. "Whoops, hehe, watch your step guys! There are bits of this stuff everywhere!" She said as she lifted her foot, checking to make sure there wasn't a gleaming piece of rock stuck beneath it. While she avoided most of them, Tetra was not one to resist a little treasure, and this was a great time to collect a souvenir. Carefully, she plucked a particularly large, gleaming piece of blue crystal from the soil, and wiped it off gently as if it were to be one of the most fragile of all things in the land.

"Anyways, are you guys okay? You were right about having a type disadvantage, I've never seen so many rock types before!" She exclaimed as she tucked the shard in the pocket of her bandana. "It's a good thing I'm a grass type! What other pokemon do you know are here?" Asked she. While Tetra was confident in her ability, she knew not to get too cocky about her strength; although she was pretty proud of her Leaf Tornado. "Oh, and uh, any thoughts on where the stairs might be? I know it's a dungeon but..I heard that some pokemon are able to sense the direction of where the steps to the next floor are!"

((This is what I get for being a nerd of the game. Some pokemon, given they have a high IQ from eating gummies, can eventually learn a tactic that gives them the cardinal direction of the stairs.))
"BAZOOKA!"

Metis stopped her grumbling as she lifted herself off the ground, looking up at Tetra. Before she answered the Snivy's question, the vulpix plucked a bright blue berry out of her bag and bit it into it with a 'crunch!'. Instantly her health replenished and the pain melted away, much to the vixen's delight. She shook her pelt out, small flakes of crystals flying out every which direction. "Good jobs, guys." Metis breathed, a bit winded. Now that the battle was over she felt a bit disoriented, but she quickly started walking off into a narrow path, contorting her body around the spikes that protruded from the sides of the walls. Her amethyst eyes stared straight ahead, not looking back at the party as she spoke.
"I've only been here a few times, but I know that most of these guys hit like rampaging Tauros'." She winced inwardly at the thought, "And uh..." She cast her gaze back with the lilt of a smirk on her face, "I think only the best teams magically sense where the stairs are. It'd be a big help though!"

She came upon another clearing and laid her eyes on said stairs, "Found em!"

No more Pokemon were left, a fact that almost stunned the Meowth. He looked around him, and all around there were burnt marks, stray leaves, drips of water, shattered crystals, and the bodies of the fainted Pokemon. It usually took longer to knock out the enemies, because he was always alone. When in a group, it was an entirely different matter. "Heh heh, wow!" Tensu placed his paws on either side of his hips, eyeing their work with a pleased, sly smile. "I should work in a team more often!"

Tensu followed the others down the tunnel, curious about the Snivey's little fact note. That would be useful, he mused. I should try working on that. Though at this moment it was unneeded, for Metis already found the next set of stairs. Strangely, Tensu felt highly uplifting, despite the battle that had taken place. Though he remained vigilant of his surroundings, he didn't feel as serious or grim as he usually did when taking on a mission. It had been awhile since he worked in a group, in fact the more he thought about it the other mission with the rookies had been Tensu's very first one since he stopped teaming up with Sneasel. Perhaps now, though, this could happen more often.

Tensu looked about the area, and seeing nothing he went on all fours and darted quickly to the stairway. Pausing beside them, he took another look around then waved the others over. "All clear!" he announced. "I'll go on ahead and make sure nothing is waiting for us on the other end." Smiling, this time just a regular, happy smile instead of a smirk, the Meowth slipped through the entryway.
The Hobbit

"Where did you go to, if I may ask?" said Thorin to Gandolf as they rode along.
"To look ahead," said he.
"And what brought you back in the nick of time?" "Looking behind,"...
