items for an iMac?
« on: June 24, 2012, 03:48:26 am »
i love FeralHeart and i am on it all the time. thank goodness there was  FeralHeart download for a mac, but i've found nobody makes any item packs for a mac. i was really disappointed, and i was wondering, if it is possible, is somebody could make an item pack or two for a mac computer? i dont mean you have to make a TON of things, just a few things for those of us who use macs. I was thinking like a sword, or that thing where you can make your fur a bunch of colors, or just some horns?
If anyone could, that would be GREAT!  :) thank you!

Dude you can just use normal items downloads. After you've downloaded the Mac version of the game everything else you might want to download for it, such as items, maps, and objects, is the same. As long as you know how to access the game folders all you need is a normal zip file.

I hope that this helps~

i've tried to download item packs, but my computer won't let me. it says that the item packs are for a windows program, and so i can't download them.

Oh i see i see, Alright i had the same problem when i had just joined, it may seem like it wont let you download them... its juts more complicated with macs.. youve gotta put each file in different sections. Hard work. i could tell you the way of downloading maps etc.

You have got to put each map file (fhs, fho, fhm) in a different file in the FH folder.

these are the exact words of my computer when i try to download the item packs:
There is no Windows program configured to open this type of file.
and Feral Heart is a Mac program on my computer

http://archiverapp.com/

I believe if you download that program (it's made especially for Mac) you'll be able to open the zip/rar files that come with item downloads. Once you've done that, there are usually directions on where the files are supposed to go but just in case;

.mesh, .material, .png files included in these ITEM downloads go into FeralHeart>Media>Items

The item.cfg should go into the Main Feral Heart folder. In most cases, you can just replace it. Though if you're wanting to combine multiple item packs, you'll have to open these .cfg files with a word processing program equivalent to notepad. (I'm not sure if Mac users have this or not.)

As for maps, this will also help you open some files they come in.

.FHO files should go into Feral Heart > Media > Objects

.FHM should go into Feral Heart > Media > Terrains

.FHS/.FHW should go into Feral Heart > Media > Sky

.Mp3 files should go into music/sounds (Whichever the map maker dictates).

Hope this helped.
