Tribal Warfare
Can you survive the conflict?

The Story Begins...

Several hundred seasons ago...at the dawn of the earth. The Dingo Tribes of the Goula Mashar and the Mala Atal roamed the Plains, hunting and surviving, nomadic in nature. A wary and unstable peace was forged between the two, in the face of crisis. Lions and Wolves, and the small cats with many families started wandering through the plains, causing tension in the air. Soon, a great battle was fought against the wolves. The two chieftains of the Tribes, Mar'tarin Stormbane from the Goula Mashar, and Hawa'kan Moonseeker of the Mala Atal rose against the leader of this alliance, Nodah, from the Wazoli pack. Though they fought bravely, both Tribes were driven from the Plains, with the species, canis familiaris dingo rarely seen there again.

Battered and weary, the two tribes wandered, in search of a new land to call home. Seasons passed, and the nomads had no luck. The Farseers from both Tribes begged and pleaded to their ancestors, the totems, and the elementals, and finally...their prayers were answered. While this land was not as fertile as the Plains, the dingoes were very well adapted to the sandy terrain, the scorching days, the freezing nights, it was a safe haven. After a quick scouting of the territories, Mar'tarin Stormbane and the new Mala Atal chieftain, Kur'rian Grasswhisper decided on the camps and the territories, with the Mala Atal getting the Northern half of the land, and the Goula Mashar getting the Southern half of the land. They set aside the cliff they had first seen the land from as a neutral territory, one where twice a month, on the full and new moons, the two tribes could meet in peace and share news. Several Festivals are also held here, celebrating the Elementals, the totems, and the founding of the land...a land they named "Cobar", which is part of the Dingo Language that means "Burnt Lands". And thus...our story continues...

Meeting the Tribes...

The Goula Mashar
The Goula Mashar are a strong, sturdy, warlike tribe, where muscle and energy triumphs over spirit. This tribe, even though they still look to their ancestors and such, aren't as devoted to them as their neighbors. The patron elements for this tribe are the elements of fire, earth, and lightning, while their totems are the kangaroo and the saltwater crocodile. Goula Mashar dingoes, including the females, are shorter and stockier in build, without dark rings around their eyes, but with dark tail tips usually. They live in the lower camp, and are better known for their Burnus than their Shaman.

The Mala Atal
The Mala Atal are the lithe, long-legged neighbors of the Goula Mashal, and wit and spirit often trump brawn. This tribe is very faithful to their ancestors and totems, and aren't as aggressive as their neighbors. The patron elements for this tribe are the elements of water, wind, and earth, while their totems are the Kookaburra and the Quokka. Mala Atal dingoes are all very tall, with thin bodies and long legs, and usually have large ears and dark rings around their eyes. They live in the upper camp, and are better known for their Shaman than their Burnus.

About our Faith...

The dingoes of Cobar are shamanistic in faith, believing in the elements of fire, earth, wind, water, and lightning, as well as animal totems and ancestral spirits.

Water: is 80% of the time, the totem of a shaman. Very few Burnu have the totem of water, and those that are, are sometimes ridiculed. The personality associated with this totem is calm, steady, and patient.

Fire: is almost always thought to be the totem of a true Burnu. Few Shaman are ever classified with Fire, and the personality associated with Fire is strong, destructive, and brave.

Earth: is the strong, steady totem that goes along with the Shaman. However, there are a few Burnu with the totem as well, so this one is rather neutral. This personality is steady, bold, and thoughtful.

Wind: is another Burnu totem, but can be seen with Shaman as well. This personality is often described as quick, flighty, and mischievous.

Lightning: is a rare totem when seen, and has never been seen on a Shaman. Only the rare Burnu have been born with this totem. You must ask me to roleplay as a dingo with a lightning totem.

The Rankings...

Chieftain(ess): leads the Tribe, and is the one who makes the decisions.

Wirinun/Malkamarru: The Wirinun for the Mala Atal is like the head shaman. They are respected almost as much as the Chieftain(ess). The same goes for the Malkamarru, but they are the head Burnu, not the head Shaman. Neither side has the other. When the Chieftain(ess) dies, they become the new one.

Wandong: Are the elders of the Tribe, and are often looked to for guidance from the Chieftain(ess) and their understudies. They have finished their physical services for the Tribe, and are now here to teach the younger generations to come. Females are referred to as "Thagwa" and males are referred to as "Wudu"

Shaman: Are the healers of both Tribes, and are able to communicate with ancestors, totems, and elementals, as well as interpret signs from them as well. While not as revered by the Goula Mashal, they are in high esteem within the ranks of the Mala Atal. They are considered fully grown adults with a last name of their own.

Burnu: Are the Warriors and Hunters of both tribes, that guard boundaries and collect food for the Tribe. They are very well respected within the Goula Mashal, but not as much in the Mala Atal. They are considered fully grown adults with their last names.

Narani: Are either learning to be Burnu or Shaman, and have recieved their totems. They do not yet have last names, and are only known by their first.

Thupinh: Are the mothers of the Tribes, whether expecting or nursing pups.

Puku: Are technically pups. They have not received neither their totems or last names.

The Rules of the RP...

    Rules of the RP
    • Please respect others during RP: I don't want any arguments going on in OOC chat. Drama can fly in character, however.
    • I will not accept auto-hitting, sparkledogs, Mary-Sues/Gary-Stues, powerplayers, or godmodders: Please make everything fair. Sometimes hits miss, sometimes you'll get hurt. Facts of life, friend. I will allow any tribal looking markings to be colored, but try to tone them down some. Also, your dingo can't be the best at everything.
    • I need you to be active: This is a must, especially if you're in a high position. Say...twice or three times a week?
    • Three strikes and you're out: There's a fine line between misunderstanding and blatantly breaking rules, so I'll give you three chances. Three strikes go by, you go bye, okay?
    • Just so we're clear, here: Forbidden romance is fine, but you must clear it with me first. Me, and only me, alright?
    • The Chieftain(ess), Wirinun, or Malkamarru: Usually plan any excursions out of the camp. However, if none of us are online, you may plan one.
    • No massive rp changing episodes while I'm offline, please?: I like to feel included, and I'm usually on for a pretty good portion of the day, so please refrain from changing too much while I'm offline.
    • Do not kill anyone's dingo without their express permission: It's rude to just go up and kill someone, so ask permission first, 'kay?

      • You may have one GM, one MA, and one Rogue dingo: I don't want this rp to be clogged with hundreds and thousands of characters, okay? Also, if you want to rp another kind of animal, please ask me first!

The Dingo Law of Claw and Fang
        • You may not kill another Tribe member. They are your brothers and sisters, and you treat them as so.  This law is punishable by death in all accounts from both tribes. Very rarely is there an exile from this.
        • Your superiors words are law. Disrespecting someone of a higher rank isn't a deadly offense, but you will get a sharp rebuke, depending on the severity of the matter.
        • You may never take a mate from another tribe. In the more severe cases, this is punishable by exile. In less severe cases (secret meetings, but with no pups) it is a harsh rebuke, and they will keep an eye on you.
        • A pup may not receive their totem until they are four seasons of age, and may not receive their last names until they have proven themselves.
        • Peace must be kept on the new moon and the full moon of every month.

      Creating Your Character...
      A few things to consider..

Our names are a little different...

Cobar's dingoes have certain names. Names like Star, Moon, Raven, and things like that just don't cut it here. The first name is always going to be tribal sounding. It doesn't have to mean a thing, and I found an excellent name generator right here. http://rinkworks.com/namegen/

As for the last names, it would just be something that sounds like a Warrior Cat's name.

      Name: Ma'hiadi Swiftpaw
      Age: 12 seasons
      Gender: Fae
      Rank: Wirinun
      Totem: Wind
      Tribe: Mala Atal
Looks: Ma'hiadi is a tall, slender fae with the stereotypical long legs, large ears, and black-outlined eyes of her people. She's a little larger than most faes, with thick sand-colored fur, a lighter underbelly, and a light tail tip. She has dark blue swirl markings, and forest green eyes. Her muzzle is short and defined, and her tail is rather thin for a dingo's.
Personality: Ma'hiadi is cunning and intelligent, often with a sharp, sarcastic tongue that drives most away. She is very dedicated to her job as the Mala Atal's Wirinun, and hasn't considered having a mate and pups yet. She's a little...spacey at times, and you will sometimes have to repeat what you're saying to her. Sometimes she will just say things to irritate people, merely because she finds it funny.
      Crush/Mate: None at the moment.
      Pups: Zero pups
Rp Sample: Ma'hiadi yawns, gazing around the camp of her tribe. From the Puku tumbling around in the clearing, to the old Wandong, dozing about in the sun. Then the young fae looks up towards the great celestial object in question. Her eyes widen in surprise, and she hastens to her paws, frowning. She hadn't meant to goof around that long, they had things to do! Quickly, the Wirinun lets out a sharp yip to summon the Burnu and their Narani to hunt and patrol the territory before the camp settled for the night.

Name: Ath'lesiest (She might not have a last one yet unless u want me to put it down)
      Age: 7 seasons
      Gender: Fae
      Rank: Narani???
Totem: Fire or maybe even lightning? If not thats ok.
      Tribe: Goula Mashar
Looks: She has a smaller frame, a skinny body, thick light red-ginger pelt with a tainted ginger white underbelly, and ice blue eyes. She also has a black undereye marking, spiral marking on her body and spiral on her tail. (I'll try an post a screenie soon)
Personality: Ath'lesiest is quick-thinking yet quiet. She can be snappy and short-tempered at times often though. She isn't usually one of those stand-out wolves. She thinks she's average and normal like the others.
      Crush/Mate: None yet
      Pups: N/A
Rp Sample: Ath'lesiest wandered through camp aimlessly. The wind buffeted her thick gray coat as she walked on to the center of camp. Hunting and patrolling in the territory had already taken place awhile ago so she was left to get bored out of her mind. Ath'lesiest looked over at two of the other Narani's playing. She huffed quietly and wandered back to her resting area for the night. After settling down, she stared out across the camp and into the rest of their territory. She hadn't had a many chances to explore yet except on the patrols. Ath'lesiest sighed and shook her head. Her head drooped down onto her paws with a thump. Her eyes closed silently and she drifted off into a dreamless sleep.
Other: She can lie pretty easily.
