Item change color ! ?

I would like to know how to change the color of an item, because I would like to personalize Christmas Hat, in black, but he appears only in white, but I think that it is because I had to change the material and I had put necklace bat, but as the items which I have to download do not work then that puts nothing, here is.

To simply change the colour of an item, go into: My computer > C: Drive > FeralHeart > Media> Items.; then scroll down until you find the file called 'hatTex1.JPEG'. Open this file with any editing program you have; gimp, photoshop, paint etc and simply doodle over it until you're satisfied.
