How to with maps?

I am, um, kinda new.  I hear you can make your own lands!  That is soooo cool!  well i downloaded the fhm file and copied and pasted it into exports on the feral heart file on my computer. Now what?  Should it show up? Where? when?

Downloaded maps show up in the Cape of Distant Worlds, always. It's the portal in the water at the Lonely Cave. There, you should see a portal (or portals) in the distance, given you've downloaded custom maps.

so just copy and paste and it is going to be there??

After you download a map, have the download file window open next to your FH file window. Just drag everything into the exports folder.

If you pasted the fhm. into exports if you restart the game and go to Cape of Distant worlds there should be a yellow glowing portal to go to the map you downloaded.

Okay, it showe up, but it says failed to load map, Try again?  I did but it's not working it looks like.

Does it say that when you try to enter the map in-game or load it in mapmaker?

When i try to enter the map.  It says "Failed to load map" "Retry, or cancel"
