Gimp background and words Whoo SOLVED

Okay I have gimp but I still don't know how to put the background black and I don't know how to put words to make it look fancy, I need like professional help. Thanks.

Simply colouring the backround black would work-


as for the text, there should be a little button that looks like a blue bubbly 'A'.


Though I dunno what this has to do with the forums. .

Set your selected color to black, and then either paint the BG, or use the fill tool, which looks like a little bucket.

as for the text, there should be a little button that looks like a blue bubbly 'A'.

Well I didn't know where to put it, goshy...

Anyway,  when I color it, my character also gets colored.

Are you talking about presets-?

Your kind of confusing at the moment, if your talking about presets then colouring certain parts of the reference would make it black, adding words to it in certain parts would make words on the character. oVo

No I'm not talking about preset. I just took screenshots in feralheart...just normal characters

you can't just fill the background of a screenshot, seeing as there are more rgb colours than the selection tool can pick out. your best bet would to use the lasso tool to cut out your character a little and then using the eraser to get out the fine lines.
