FH for some reason has black background

I had a problem before with presets and was told to reinstall the files. But i got a black background in the game and i try going home and set a new home but it dosn't work Try uninstall and reinstalling the game but nothing seem to work what can i do? TT_TT

Are you using the regular Feral Heart or Feral Heart+?

If you're using Feral Heart+ this might help (although you should stop using it altogether):

On the other hand if you are using the regular Feral Heart did you uninstall the game but also delete the Feral Heart folder before reinstalling? To really be sure that you clean out any damaged, missing, or misplaced files that could be causing the black screen problem you need to do that. Be sure that you have any important files like presets etc backed up though.

If that doesn't work try doing a character reset from the top right of the forum in case your character or characters are stuck on some long gone map that you deleted while uninstalling your game:

If that doesn't work you could try messing with your game's video settings if you can get to the main menu. Click where it says "options" on the main menu then "video" from there set your settings like so:
-Switch your rendering subsystem from OpenGL to Direct3D9
-Turn Water Reflection Off
- Put View Distance to 0

In addition to what Lord said, maybe you set home in a custom map, and when you re-installed Fh the map got deleted. It's happened to me multiple times, and it can be easily fixed by re-installing the map. Or you could do set home, like Lord mentioned above.

Not sure if you've already fixed your black back ground problem by now, but I was having the same difficulty. I just installed the game and I only saw my character and a black background when making my wolf and entering the game, so I uninstalled and reinstalled and that did nothing.

THEN I FOUND A SOLUTION!
I just right-clicked on the FH icon in my start menu and selected "Run as Administrator" (of course you need to be on a computer where you're the administrator) and it just worked! Everything just showed up like magic, I hope this works for you too!
