A wry smiled escaped on Dusty's mouth at the wolf's words. "Thank you," he murmured, actually meaning it. "You've been so kind to us - I don't know how we could repay you. And sorry when we met earlier. I was too harsh on you." The brute told her. At her last words, he glanced over at the dens. "Maybe we should place Cara and her pups in the nursery and Jip could watch over her. He is the only one Cara trusts the most." Dusty concluded. "Then maybe we can place Gavroche and Risto in that cave." He gestured towards the cave where Marie had said the wolves were learning, however, were not pups. "They could learn how to be together without fighting."
"Hey! I'm still here and listening, you know." Risto huffed from below, his voice louder over the rain and wind.
Ignoring the feline, Dusty felt awkward. Glancing back at Marie, he pointed his muzzle at Flak. "I don't think I should make all the decisions. Flak is the one in charge, and I feel like I'm invading his leadership." He blinked. Did I really mean that Flak is now the leader? he wondered.
