"I can fend for myself!" Gavroche barked stubbornly, raising his head up defiantly. "I've fought those bloody mutants before! Why's this time any different!?" He growled in protest, glaring at Teegan. He was far too prideful to simply give up and flee like a coward.
Flak rolled his eyes impatiently at the small golden pup, a low growl tumbling in his throat. "Ugh, we don't have time for this, runt!" He barked, immediately snatching Gavroche up by the scruff of the neck and tossing his light body towards the departing group. "Now get going!" Flak snarled, in no mood to be dealing with a stubborn pup, especially with the now alert mutants beginning to move in.
Gavroche landed with a thud in the sand and tumbled over himself after Flak threw him towards the fleeing group. Immediately, he scrambled to his feet and plopped down defiantly to his haunches, head raised smugly."Nope! I'm not goin'. I can fight just as much as you guys can! I'm not gonna run off like a sissy." He growled, staring up at Flak.
The big black male narrowed his eyes at the stubborn pup. Every word Gavroche said made Flak's impatient anger tingle, and by the time the pup was done speaking, Flak was bearing his fangs in an annoyed snarl. "You insubordinate little-" he started, taking a single angry step towards the pup.
