Making a preset and need a bit of coding help.

I'm working on this preset for the next couple days coming up and right now im stuck about how i am going to do the wings for it. They are going to look similar to the blue flames below:



I'm pretty sure that I would need to make it as anim_texture for the flames to move in a few frames, but i have no clue how to add that translucent effect since I've never used it before. I don't want it to be too light but i still want the flames to be see through as shown. So my question is, how would I code the texture so its animated and a bit translucent?

Ruby has a great tutorial on that. Scroll down after the transparent part, and there's how to get it semi-transparent. I think that it gets more and less transparent with the layer opacity, so just play around with that. c:
