Mesh Problems
« on: December 24, 2013, 02:51:45 pm »
Well, I downloaded some meshes for my new map. I was proud of it when I was done, but when I exported it a lot of the meshes went missing, which made up most of the map. Please help!

Did you put the meshes into their own object groups?
They disappear if you put them in the Default groups, such as Default, MyRocks, MyTrees, etc.
If you go into the Object Maker and save them into a non-existent group, it will create that group for you.

Then, you'll need to go to C:\FeralHeart\media\terrains and then into your map's folder. Find your map's Objects.cfg and open it in notepad. It will have some text and a lot of numbers, but the section headers tell you what object group and what object. For example.

[MyTrees/CherryBlossom]

But we can't use MyTrees, and we saved this mesh into a new object group.

So I use Ctrl & H to open up the replace menu, and replace MyTrees with the new group, and it'll do that for you.
Mine looks like

[Serenity_Ruby1234/CherryBlossom]

And works ingame then.

Aye, like Ruby said dearie. Here's a visual:

1. Download the objects and put the material, mesh and image files in My_Objects.

2. Go to tools and object maker in game and create a new group if you dont have one. Example Username Default. Then save it.

3. Click on "Mesh" and type the mesh's name in the box Mesh: box. Example theobjectsname.mesh. Then click Add New

Also, if you want your object to not be walk able click on the Own Collision. If it's red the object is walk able, if its green its not walk able.

4. Then click back to Object, type what name you want on the object, and the group name on the group there you want to save the mesh in. Then click on Save and the objects name should appear in the group you saved it in.

5. Then export your objectt, it asks if you want to overwrite, click OK and wait while it exporting.

Done ^^
