It was long ago, so long that nobody even remembers anymore...
The ship carrying dozens of almost-domestic cats and partially-tamed wolves was rocking violently in the waves, and loud meowing and howling was coming from below-decks where the 'kennels' were stored. In reality, though, those kennels were crates that should've been used for fruit. Instead, they were used for smuggling the animals to illegal owners. This secret operation had been going on for several long years with great profit. Occasionally, a ship would be caught and the animals would be returned to their rightful places. That was rare, though. Now, this particular ship, wasn't destined for either a far-off harbor or return to the mainland. This ship, in particular, rocked by waves and pelted by rain, was destined for a shipwreck on an island chain that hadn't been inhabited by any sort of human life for centuries. Since the medieval ages.
The humans died off quickly. There weren't any materials for them to build the houses with. The existing buildings were rotting, mildew-covered, and half of them were flooded. The trees on the islands were either too big and old and knotted for their hatchets to cut through or too small or wet to be of use, even for a fire. The ship was thoroughly wrecked, splintered and dangerous, the cargo forgotten.
However, the animals... They were resourceful. They knew teamwork. They found a home in a crater and some small canyons. They didn't need houses or fire like the humans did. The food on the island could easily support all of them. That's what happened all those many moons ago, and as those animals (even the cats) befriended each other and worked together even more, a Tribe was formed.
Not a Clan, the word Clan implies that the group is all cats. It also implies that they have rivals. That isn't true. There is no competition here, on the Island of the Falling Leaves. This is a Tribe, where species means nothing. (Note: The ranking and belief system is based off of the Tribe that appears in the Warriors series, but you don't need to read Warriors to join.)

RANKS
Healer (Leader of the tribe, but also in charge of healing the sick/wounded): Scorch Left by Dying Embers (eclips3star)
Keeper of Knowledge (In charge of the history and stories of the tribe. If they wish, they can become Healer when the current Healer dies): Chishiki (Tophfaith)
Keeper of Knowledge To-be (Training to be Keeper of Knowledge. Will be Keeper when the current Keeper retires/dies/becomes Healer): OPEN
Elders (Old cats/wolves. They're well-respected, but too old to fight.): NONE YET
Prey-Hunters (Lean, lithe cats/wolves in charge of catching the food for the group.): NONE YET
Island-Guards (Equal in rank to Prey-Hunters. They're stronger, larger cats/wolves in charge of guarding the tribe from badgers, foxes, bears, etc.): NONE YET
Prey-Hunters To-be (Training to be Prey-Hunters.): NONE YET (closed until we have at least one Prey-Hunter)
Island-Guards To-be (Training to be Island-Guards): NONE YET (closed until we have at least one Island-Guard)
Kit-Mothers/Pup-Mothers (Self-explanitory.): NONE YET
Kits/Pups (Self-explanitory): NONE YET (closed unless you have someone willing to be your mother.)

RULES
-Send in an RP sample with your member form
-No excessive swearing. A little is okay, but enless expletives is a bit too much.
-Be at least semi-realistic. Wings are allowed ONLY if you need them to get somewhere like up the waterfall in Ficho Tunnel.
-Respect those of a higher rank than you. They've earned it through being loyal.
-Don't ask for a high rank. That will be earned if you're active  ;)
-No mate-begging. Please. If you want a mate, find a MateCenter. Also, please no mating in camp. If you have to, do it somewhere private.
-Be active! And let us know if you're going to be away for over a week. Unexpected leaves are okay, but not if they happen every other week.
-No power-playing/god-modding
-Have FUN! It's not ALL role-play, there's some casual discussion to get to know the rest of your tribe too. We mess around a bit. But, when it's time to RP, please get serious!

SO YOU WANT TO JOIN?
Fantastic! Just fill out this form (and don't forget an RP sample! It doesn't have to be a novel, it can be as short as you want it to be. Quality, not quantity :) )

EXAMPLE:
Character Name: Scorch Left by Dying Embers
Character Nickname: Scorch
Username: eclips3star
Character Gender: Female
Age: 27 moons
Species: She's probably a Russian Blue mix of some sort, most likely with your generic black cat. Definitely a feline, though.
Description/picture: Scorch is a dark grey, dappled cat with intense burnt orange eyes.
Build: She's small, lithe, and lean. Scorch is fast and has great stamina, but strength only comes to her after a lot of work. She doesn't burn out easily, but when she does, she has to eat a lot of food to get back up to normal.
History: Scorch has lived on the island since she was a kit. That's really all that needs to be said, unless the deaths of her family before she could even remember them counts. Nobody really knows what happened to them, but Scorch has made it her mission to find out what happened and how she alone survived. She was a prey-hunter until the Healer before her selected her, as neither of the Keepers of Knowledge wished to lead. And when the Healer died, she took charge of the clan.
Personality: She's cynical and mistrustful until you get to know her. She's also rather obstinate and sometimes hotheaded. Despite that, she's intuitive, logical, clever, bright, and cunning.
Any family?: Nope. They all died.
Desired Rank: Healer
Second Choice: Prey-Hunter
RP Sample: The small she-cat jumped on the small nest, almost losing her balance. Lucky for her, she snagged the edge of the nest just in time to avoid tumbling into a pile of herbs. That was close, The young prey-hunter thought. Leopard wouldn't have liked that at all! Then, she saw Leopard right behind her, asking her if she was enjoying herself. "Y-yes! Of course, Leopard That Strikes as the Moon Sets!" Scorch yowled frantically, losing her balance again in shock and actually falling into the herbs this time. "I don't have to clean that up, do I?" She asked. When Leopard nodded, Scorch Left by Dying Embers sighed. "I thought so." She said, as she started picking marigold bits out of her dark-grey pelt.
