The Lion King: Deleted/ altered scenes and characters. Opinions?

Well since many users here are fans of the film The Lion King and the game itself draws it's roots from the TLK fandom I'm curious what you guys think about some of these
deleted/altered scenes & characters from the film. I figured this could be an interesting mini discussion topic. Perhaps this will bring more interesting twists to current TLK rps in game to.

Do you guys think they change the story in any way if they were still present in the film? For better or worse? When it comes to characters which do you think should have stayed and why? Any you like? Everyone is free to share their thoughts.

What an interestin' thread ye've got here, Ms. Suragaha. Even I knew not that such deleted scenes existed and I do have mixed feelings about each one to which I'll explain further in this post.

Firstly, the scene where Scar attempts to make Nala his Queen. Personally, I perceive it better that the scene was left out. Well, the first half of it where Scar murmurs onward about his own want of a mate that is then commences with the intention of takin' advantage of poor Nala. If the scene was put into the official movie, there's a possibility that The Lion King's ratings wouldn't be so high as they are today. Not due to the children or young teens watchin' the show but their guardians. It's pretty obvious that the scene shows signs of not only pedophilia (given the fact that Scar is one whole generation older than Nala which is like a late 30-40 year old male compared to an early 20 or younger lassie) but it also gives light to somethin' very unwanted. C'mon. The Lion King is a movie for young audiences and showin' such a scene could easily influence one's mind believe it or not. Especially if they may be a fan of Scar and aims to be "just like him". It happens. Next thing the company knows, they'll be havin' a severe drop of ratings due to angry parents/guardians findin' out that somethin' so vile is on a movie labelled safe for juvenile individuals. Let's leave it at that. However, near the end of the clip, I believe they should've added that part where it shows why Nala got banished. Heck, I didn't even know she was banished! I thought she slinked away to find Simba in the dead of night and by sheer luck, ran into him. It would've been good to know the whole reason behind the "A wild Nala appears!" out of nowhere without givin' an actual explanation.

As for the second clip.. I'm a bit iffy on that one. Again, I'd have to give that one also a thumbs down. Why? Well if anyone remembers this little song:

then they'll come to see that Simba is completely shruggin' off the little lesson to bein' a King his father has lectured him about. Insubordination. Disobedience. Actually, completely ignorin' his father altogether but instead bein' selfish and self-centered with that "When I'm King, I can do anything I want!" belief in mind. Completely oblivious to the hardships, stress, and responsibilities that fall alongside it. It's as if he never even considered what his father told him. A king cannot do just anythin' ye' know. To be frank, he sounds like Scar. If the scene was added, there's a chance it might have given a negative influence on the viewers- particularly those who're young. Also, if anyone recalls Simba completely runnin' away from his responsibilities as an adult, that also reflects upon this. If the clip was added, again it'd look like Simba completely disregarded his father's wishes out of cowardliness in spite of his undyin' love for his dad. That isn't how a king is supposed to act. How a loyal son is supposed to act. Now, is it? I know not about ye' guys but the movies/shows I watch for young audiences are made to encourage the viewers to do the right thing as long as it's in their capabilities. Not run away from it for the rest of yer life and hide. I can understand Simba runnin' as a cub for he had no choice (it was either run or stand right there and get eaten by the Hyenas) but as an adult. That's a different matter. Therefore, they left the clip out to make it look like Simba was never actually thoroughly taught how to be king yet. As if he was far too young and naive. Then, as the movie progresses, he comes to learn himself with the help of Rafiki.
Of course, since I am iffy on this particular statement of mine, feel free to correct me on anythin' I may be amiss towards.

The third scene. I got a good chuckle out of it. Especially when Pumbaa puffed out his chest and gave Timon a very good pointer about responsibility. I feel like this one should have been added. It'd give an explanation (well, a more clearer one) as to why Simba's three affiliates decided to follow him into, I quote from Timon, "The Jaws of Death". It shows that in spite of what ye' may be goin' through, yer friends will always be by yer side. Supportin' ye' (even if they may call ye' a dope), bein' there for ye', givin' ye' a variety of advise, and in Timon's case- carin' for ye' even in the face of death itself. A touchy scene with a good life lesson behind it.

As on the second scene, for the fourth scene I am once again a bit iffy about it. I have recognized a few scenes there that's also in with the movie and some that's not. I believe the only problem I have with this clip would be when Nala maneuvers herself into a dimly lighted clearance behind some underbrush and motions for Simba to follow her. Just seein' the look on her face immediately gives ye' the realization that she's bein' suggestive while Simba, mouth agape, is probably still tryin' to compute what just happened. Disney shows meant for younger audiences go as far as innocent kissin'. Nothin' more. This went a bit over the borderline. I'd be fine if they added every scene in the clip into the original footage but as long as they exclude what I mentioned above regardin' this.

Fifth scene. I believe it's better they left this one out. Goin' all the way back to the second clip, this will be exhibit C of Simba completely disrespectin' his father and practically forgettin' all about him, who he is, his responsibilities- just runnin' away actin' as if that will solve all his problems and everythin' will be fine. It won't. We all know that. Runnin' away never solves problems. It only welcomes burden and worry. Now that I think about it, this is like runnin' away from home. Big no-no there. There's other steps one can take. Simba's own ignorance towards it all is just a horrible way to treat it. It's best that the editors left out as much "Simba denyin' all that he is, especially when the Pridelands need him more than anythin' else" as they did. This is typically sayin', in my opinion, "So what. Everyone in the Pridelands are dying, Scar is enslaving all my friends and family, I've practically betrayed my father and everyone else. I'm not in the false. I had no choice. Everything will be fine if I just forget about it all and act as if it never happened!" No better than the-. That's another tale I should jabber about another time. Wouldn't want to get carried away. That aside, there's also the immediate betrayal of Timon. So what if he's king? He's still Simba, isn't he? This hints another influence that could notion viewers to immediately hate someone just for keepin' a secret only to un-friend them because of it rather than sit down, talk it out, and learn their backstory. There's a reason why mortals keep secrets and actin' so impulsively over said secrets can sometimes make the situation worse than it may already be. A poor move on his part. Overall, a definite nope to this one on the "Should this clip have been added in the original footage?" question.

Finally, the sixth scene. I can see no particular con with this one other than I believe the editors edited this clip to make Simba look much more depressed and burdened after all that has happened. I mean, I know not about ye' but I don't think individuals would so openly say, "My father's dead and it's all my fault" to complete strangers when they ask. Especially since the event was most tragic and scarred Simba for life. Arr, I'll be a bit short with this explanation and leave it as this.

As for the characters.. I think the characters who were already viewed over and officially added are enough to satisfy the overall plot line and character relations. Although I wouldn't mind seein' some of those deleted characters in possible future The Lion King movies if they ever decide to continue on with the bundle.

These are quite interesting sura. As far as the first one, it's probably best it was left out, due to it being kinda squicky. For the second one... I really like it as a stand alone. But unfortunately It would have messed up the plot a bit, as Vespian has already said. Third scene- I actually would have liked to see that in the movie. As for the rest, I really have no opinion.

Since there are rather good descriptions up there of the deleted scenes, I'll talk about some of the characters.

With Lion King 4 coming out next year I think we're all pretty excited with the new characters Disney will be introducing to the movie and series. 
However, a specific character and also the main one that we will be following throughout the movie and series is Kion.  Nala and Simba's second offspring. 
What surprised me was that it was told in the Lion King comic/book series that Nala and Simba had a cub before Kiara named Kopa.  Hm...  Kion..Kopa..
I hope they mention Kopa's name at least once.  He was after all their first born.
