In general, I like the ideas. I too, am sometimes annoyed by the fact that you can't separately color each marking.
But realistically, it's unnecessary as that's what presets are there for. Even if you don't know how to make one yourself, you could just request one from a friend or learn to make presets.
As for the Tail moving independently, now that's a good idea that could be implemented into the game as a patch or update. Just as you have emotions, having that extra option of tail position can be a great addition for RP's and such.
