Methods of Starting RP in FH

"Lion RP. A good plot, and friendly people. Good grammar only, but lots of fun. Contact/Meet Magpie"

I love when people ask what grammar isss.

I miss walk-in RPing, I used to do it ALL THE TIME and it created the most awesome RPs, but now it seems more difficult, and I don't know why... There just seems to be more younger players on here, I don't know how or why it seems like that to me, but it just does. It's not anything against younger players, really even older ones do this too sometimes.

I like forum RP more, since it's easier to keep up with, but I miss walking into in-game RPs without being yelled at in FP like "THIS IS MY DEN I WILL EAT YOU-" or something immature like that, I could give tons of examples.

All in all, I like any method of RPing, well, BESIDES annoying advertising... I don't even like when I advertise XD I sound extra annoying, but it's actually quite fun being a slight annoyance sometimes~ Without overdoing it.

Ah, I love Walk-In rps too~ X3 Though usually I'm too shy to walk up to random people, so I just sit and wait until someone comes to me |D

I also dislike advertising, cuz I like explaining everything about the RP in detail, and since we can't paste stuff into the dialogue box, I have to retype my huge extensive explanation every single time D|

I love walk-in RPs too, but ones with friends only are okay as well |D i also love making new friends but too shy to do it sometimes ;_; Same goes for RPing, both on here and in-game.

I tend to only roleplay with my friends - I'm not very good at talking to new people or starting the rp. I love the walk-in roleplay scenarios, but they're not too common! So, if anybody sees me seemingly sat doing nothing, do feel free to come and RP with me, I don't bite.
On that note, the advertisting can get annoying, but I don't really mind it as long as they're not posting it every second.

As somebody who's very, very new to FH and has no friends here yet, I pretty much rely on walk-ups to get some RP going. Unfortunately I'm also very, very shy, and mostly I've been running around exploring. I know waiting for people to come to me isn't a very good strategy when it comes to making friends, but part of me is paranoid that if I just walk up to a random group of people and start blathering at them, I'll be interrupting something.

Advertising RPs doesn't really bother me, and it does seem to work, but so far I haven't seen anything I'd like to inquire about. All the ads I've seen are for Warrior cats, or a specific species that I am not a part of, or realistic RP that's honestly a little boring to me. I've also seen quite a few groups and requests for RPs based off anime or movies or games or things like that, which is a tiny bit disappointing to somebody like me who prefers to do all-original writing. Also, I'm a little bit apprehensive of spontaneous gatherings of strangers. I think I'd still much rather have my chat box spammed with people who are at least putting a little bit of effort into role-playing instead of general spaziness and mindless vulgarity like I've been seeing in the general chat of Flourite Plains lately.

Thanks for posting this thread. I hope to eventually find a group of level-headed people to play with on a regular basis, and knowing how RPs get started here will help with that.

I'll sometimes make a cub and run out into a busy area all "Where's my mama?! I can't find her!" sometimes someone will adopt my OC.
It's worked a couple of times someone will call my cub over and start rp'ing with me.
I've met a few friends that way  ^__^
saying that though, I don't force my cubs on anyone XD I wait for someone to call me, I wont just latch onto someone all "you'll do! 8D"

Other then that, I find most rp's by keeping an eye on the general chat and if something catches my attention ill join in.

I may start an RP by joining in randomly, but I respond quite well to advertised ones. As long as the roleplay starts right away, and it isn't a group of 90 of us sitting there drooling while waiting for something to happen.

I quit one rp because they invited me with perfect grammar, and when the roleplay started it fell apart. They told me they were just too lazy to type everything because it slowed them down too much. What a pain.

Ahaha, thanks. I'm just voicing my opinion there, but it probably comes from my strong roots in fantasy RP where animals can talk and breathe fire and have rainbow scales. Real animals are fascinating, but it's waaay too tempting to forsake reality and be a talking pretty-colored critter.

More off topic, I know, but I find this kind of thing absolutely appalling. I don't understand how anybody can completely disregard grammar out of laziness alone. Have they ever read a book before? Haven't they noticed how much more readable decent grammar and formatting is than lazily slapped-out slog? In my opinion, even real-time chat RP is more about post quality than post speed, though it's nice when a face-to-face RP has a good balance of both. I have a much easier time writing with someone when they put in a little more effort into their posts than "-sniffs u-", but I'll stop before I go off on a tangent.

So far nobody's started a walk-up RP with me. >: -sadface- Though I do like to sit around and watch people go by, see who their characters are and what they look like. At the same time I'm watching the general chat for something I could possibly join, though my newness still needs to wear off a little and lessen the amount of courage-mustering I'll have to do to approach a group of people.
